Love ‘em and everybody’s so happy … heh.
I’m a fan, too, and I think these particular new/old ads are very well-done. Being a child of the 60s, I was always shocked at the way women were portrayed in some of the old ads, like the ones you’ve put up in past posts. But then, one of my buddy’s sisters, who is a DA in San Jose, CA, pointed out to us that modern ads are just as bad in their “objectification” of women. At first we thought she was just being her usual feminazi self, but when we did some research, we discovered it was really true! And where you see ‘em is pretty unexpected. The ones you see in men’s mags are bad enough, but the Cosmo-type, women’s mag ads were the worst! At least in terms of excessive oral-fixation, over-sexualization of young, YOUNG girls, etc. Maybe the 50s weren’t so bad!
