Anyone with a functioning brain knows that if you reward something, you get more of it, and if you penalize something, you get less of it. But states and cities run by Democrats just keep piling on more taxes and regulations, and then they act surprised when their economies continue to worsen and businesses either go bankrupt or depart for greener pastures. Bill Whittle describes how excessive taxation and overregulation has affected one industry that is especially dear to his heart:
Phineas at Public Secrets comments:
“Confiscatory taxes, insane regulation, and a state government controlled by a party dedicated to looting the taxpayer to pay for a spoils system that rewards its clients, instead of governing for the good of all. California’s only success these days is in driving its most productive people elsewhere.
“Will the last business to leave California please turn out the lights?”
Chrissy the Hyphenated comments:

Evidently, there are a lot of non-functioning brains in those deep blue states.
Apparently so — lots of voters without two brain cells to rub together.
