Merry Christmas, Bob!!
Put out some extra seed today in case the cold weather causes Bob’s cousins to have less success during their daily forages. Merry Christmas all.
My husband puts birdseed out every day, and we get an astonishing number and variety of avian visitors (as well as a few mammalian ones). I also save all the bacon grease for them (I pour it into paper cups, freeze it, then tear off the paper). The feeding station is right outside my husband’s office window so he can pause occasionally to take pictures of the visitors. Someday maybe I’ll post some of his photographs.
Oh, and Merry Christmas to you too, 49er.♡
Somehow that doesn’t surprise me. Growing up in the SoCal mountains mom had several hanging homemade seed & suet feeding stations scattered in the trees outside various windows. Dad was always bringing suet home from the butcher’s and struggling (unsuccessfully) for years to feed the birds and blockout the squirrels. Memories.
