NEA endorses Obama for another term

With unemployment sky-high and the economy in the toilet, Barack Obama’s approval numbers are sinking fast… but at least he can always count on the support of the teachers’ unions. The reason for this is that they will be holding the Winter Olympics in hell before the teachers’ unions will endorse a Republican for president. The National Education Association didn’t even wait to see who the Republican nominee will be before endorsing Obama for a second term. The Bard of Murdock thinks the NEA should just be honest and change its name:

We saw this week the NEA
Put on another fine display:
Endorsing for next year
The local racketeer.

The teachers union jumped the gun
By picking from a field of one,
Before the GOP
Could field a nominee.

Which strikes me as the sort of thing
They might find normal in Beijing,
But seems a bit unfair
As democratic fare.

But democratic (lower case)
Is, for the teachers, out of place:
When power is involved
Unfairness is absolved.

For power is the currency
The union wants, and willingly
Will buy with union dues,
And volunteering crews.

Perhaps the folks from NEA
Should modify their name to say
What party they obey:
Just call them DEA.

Really, the same NEA trashing Madison by hiring homeless people to carry their signs? Oh, and what has Obama promised them for that endorsement?
