Money can’t buy me love (unless it’s Obama money)

Addressing his disciples, Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.”

Addressing an adoring crowd in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, Barack Obama said, “If you love me, you gotta help me pass this bill!”

The bill in question is, of course, the so-called “jobs bill” that Obama recently sent to Congress, which the Wall Street Journal has called a blue state bailout in disguise.

The Raleigh incident inspired The Bard of Murdock to compose a little song:

If you love me and you know it, pass the bill!
If you love me and you know it, pass the bill!
If you love me and you know it,
And you really want to show it,
If you love me and you know it, pass the bill!

If you love me, don’t reject me, pass the bill!
If you love me, don’t reject me, pass the bill!
If you love me, don’t reject me,
Pass the bill and re-elect me,
If you love me, don’t reject me, pass the bill!

If you love me, tell John Boehner, pass the bill!
If you love me, tell John Boehner, pass the bill!
If you love me, tell John Boehner,
That you love the great campaigner,
If you love me, tell John Boehner, pass the bill!

If you love me, tell the Senate, pass the bill!
If you love me, tell the Senate, pass the bill!
If you love me, tell the Senate,
That Obama needs to win it,
If you love me, tell the Senate, pass the bill!

If you love me, don’t debate it, pass the bill!
If you love me, don’t debate it, pass the bill!
If you love me, don’t debate it,
Pass it even if you hate it,
If you love me, don’t debate it, pass the bill!
