Hunting and gathering, circa 1962

If you’re as old as I am, this will be a trip down memory lane. Remember going grocery shopping with Mom when you were a little kid? This Encyclopedia Britannica film captures the experience. If you watch all the way to the end, you’ll see how much an average mother paid for a shopping cart full of groceries in 1962 (warning: not for the faint of heart).

I was five when this was taken so it is memory lane for me. It aslo show how high food is to today compared back then.

  2. Watched this with Mrs, but didn’t show her your text first, so I was somewhat prepared, and had been chuckling at the prices as they were being rung. I was surpised anyway, but I just wish I could have somehow captured the look on her face when the final total rang up! And we ain’t ‘zackly Spring chickens. If that was 1962, guess we’d be Jack’s age. But it looks late ’50s to me.
