When I was a kid, Mom used to send me to the corner store with a dollar, and I’d come home with a loaf of bread, a bottle of milk, a sack of oranges, a box of cereal, a bunch of bananas, and a dozen eggs. Can’t do that today. Too many flippin’ security cameras.

My grandmother used to send me to the store with 50 cents–I was maybe 6 or 7 and could pick up her pack of L&M filterless smokes and still have enough left over for a can of Cherokee Red soda and 3 pretzel rods out of the big glass jar on the counter. That was around 1972.
Back in the old days, many adults thought nothing of sending a small child to go buy cigarettes for them, and no one raised an eyebrow. Any adult who tried that today had better be prepared for a visit from the police and Child Protective Services.
Yep – Those were the good ol’ days BB – Sigh 😄😄😄
