    • That wood grain one IS amazing. When I was a little kid I was always seeing faces (or sometimes animals, or monsters) in things, and for a long time I thought I was the only one. It’s nice that nowadays it’s considered a legitimate hobby. 😉

        I still always see things–usually faces–in patterns, my curtains, wood grain, what have you. I always thought I was the only one too! I used to entertain myself for hours as a child this way (and sometimes scare myself silly).

        • In my childhood home (which was demolished some years ago to clear the way for a McMansion), there was a dog-shaped water stain on the upstairs bedroom wall, a villainous-looking man in a discoloration in the fieldstone of the fireplace, and bizarre monsters in the wood grain of some of the bedroom doors. I still have dreams about that place.
