Thanks for a lighthearted take on a serious subject. The ” 3 Americans” sign is a scary monster.

    • As an old lady who has been fighting a mostly losing battle with my weight for almost my entire adult life, this is one of those things I have to laugh about… because otherwise I’d have to cry and I look really ugly when I cry. 🙂

I’ve been crying since my husband died in Feb. 2016, and I don’t care how I look anymore! We are all beautiful in our own way, and I’ve decided to stop trying to live up to Maybelline’s ideal about how women should look in this world. Let’s just keep on keepin’ on. I love your posts, please keep that up, too!

        • I hear you; I know how much it hurts to lose someone you love. (((hugs)))

I realized long ago that I was never going to be beautiful according to the prevailing standard of beauty, at least not without major cosmetic surgery — and that was when I was younger, thinner, and better looking than I am now. My options were to a) die or b) learn not to care. Easy choice. 🙂

Sadly, some might see that and wonder which was the easy choice!

Happily, hooked to this in the blog-heap, noting that it’s “Bluebird posters weighing in on a hefty subject.”

Another gem from my favourite bluebird. No national stereotypes in sight.
