    • I was the younger (by eight years) sister and I idolized my big sister — I considered her the epitome of feminine beauty, brilliance, intelligence, and great fashion sense. Not surprisingly, her assessment of me was a little more nuanced. 🙂

    I have a photograph of my oldest granddaughter with the same hostile expression as the baby in the top photo. She was a bit scary at times, as a child. But she’s in Harvard now, so she’s turning out OK, after all. 😀
