Few things are harder to put up
with than the annoyance of a good example. — Mark Twain
When your pets die, bury them with saddles and weapons, so future archaeologists will think we rode cats into battle.

When I lived in China, some of the bicycles and scooters I saw loaded down with goods…I don’t know how those things stayed upright!

The one with the giant porcelain urns horrified me — to think of that much valuable cargo, so completely exposed and vulnerable — that’s the stuff of which nightmares are made.

I always worried they would fall over on top of me while walking – like, how does the Embassy report my death in that situation? Killed by falling pallets stacked 30 high on a bicycle? No one here would believe it.

Great collection, bob.
Some made me groan “Oh no!” like the bricks or the milkman or (yikes!) the kid in the crate towed behind.
No less than three bad jobs of locking up. At least with the middle one – the motorbike – it actually went through the wheel, making it undriveable even if you took it off the post. The one where the lock isn’t even attached to the bike is the best.
But the one that made me LOL was the bike stuck in cement. With the footprints walking away from it — not going off the walk, but continuing right down the wet-concrete walk. Genius award!
