The first one reminds me of several incidents with various clerks at my local grocery store many years ago when they gave out Green Stamps (which you then used for items that you may or may not want, my friend and I used her Mother’s stamps for tickets to Disneyland…but that’s another story). Anyway, back to my battle with the clerks. They had a machine with a dial attached to the cash register so that they could dial the amount of the bill you paid and the machine would spit out the correct number of stamps. Above the dial was a hand written sigh which read “Dial slow”. No one ever got the joke when I remarked, ” so that’s what’s wrong with it”.

And I apologize if I have misused any punctuation, spelling, etc..
I do enjoy these as you help me keep my once upon a time English major’s but eventually International Relations Major’s brain functioning.
