You could say he was a country rap singer as he spoke all his songs. He was good at it. But he really did not have any real range and simply spoke most of his hits to musical complement. Hugs

    Taxman, by George Harrison

“Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman
If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet.
Don’t ask me what I want it for
If you don’t want to pay some more
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
And you’re working for no one but me.”

They came on April 15th, dear,
    to take away our gold.
Tax Men, unmoved by plea or tear,
it makes your blood run cold.

Oh Income Tax, you break our backs –
    The Government takes all!
A thief by any other name,
    Would never have such gall!!

(Sung to the tune of It Came Upon A Midnight Clear)

I read it in a Mad Magazine over 50 years ago!

OMG we just went through this! We didn’t get anything back this year. At least we didn’t have to pay!
This gave me a good chuckle! @v@ ❤

    • My husband and I both collect Social Security, which we stash in a dedicated checking account, which we use to pay our quarterly taxes (state and federal) and property taxes. It seems kind of silly, but you can’t buck the system.

Up here, we get an extra couple weeks to get ours in – April 30. But I got mine in early this year, and my accountant found me some a decent rebate; I was very happy at tax time this year for a change. 🙂
