We had one for our Oak floors when I was a kid, hated the darn thing as it was difficult for my 8-year-old body to control.

Ah, the simpler times of yesteryear!

  2. “The Johnson won’t splash dirty water on your baseboard.”

Ehrm… Wasn’t that a line from an old blues song?

I wonder if the gal narrating the commercial didn’t think to herself, “Any husband that gave his wife this for Christmas would be lucky to see the morning.”

“And I got myself new golf clubs! Ta-ta! Enjoy your present, darling, while I”m off to play eighteen holes!”

We had acres of waxed tile floors in our first home in Australia. One of those little beauties helped to scrub the floors, but then I was down on hands and knees spreading the smelly wax. Then it was on with the buffing pads to get those floors gleaming. We must have been out of our tiny minds!!!!!

  4. Actually, my mother would have probably appreciated one of those. She waxed the whole kitchen floor on her hands and knees one year. That wax became rock hard. It was work to use but long-lasting. Instead of buying and putting down new linoleum, my dad painted the old covering dark red to cover the wear and my mom applied the wax. 🙂 — Suzanne
