Just as a strongly flowing fountain is not blocked up by a handful of earth, so the compassion of the creator is not overcome by the wickedness of his creatures. —St. Isaac the Syrian

How come zebras never caught on?

I’ve heard that they are difficult to domesticate.

I only spotted one celebrity: Babe Ruth fishing. Some others look familiar, but I can’ t place them. Curious who else your readers come up with!

Babe’s fishing buddy is Lou Gehrig. Those are the only two celebrities I’m aware of in this collection, but there may be others that I didn’t recognize. 🙂

I love old photos. The picture of the three girls in the parade or whatever looks like it was taken about the time I was in high school. I’ve heard zebras can be mean so they’re no doubt hard to handle. 🙂 — Suzanne

I don’t know their names–could probably take five minutes to find them online–but the trombone, trumpet, and banjo trio are part of Spike Jones’ Band of Renown. J.

The band name is actually Spike Jones and his City Slickers. The trumpet player is George Rock, most known for his falsetto singing in songs such as, “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.” I haven’t been able to identify the other two. J.

Thanks for the info! I’ve heard Spike Jones but didn’t recognize them.

Neither did I. I don’t even remember where I found that picture. Guess I should pay better attention when I’m pinching other people’s photographs. 🙂
