Happy birthday, Franz

Franz Schubert (1797-1828) composed “Ständchen” in 1826. The words are from Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. Originally composed for piano and solo voice, it’s performed here in a setting for tenor soloist, choir, and orchestra.

  3. A beautiful, piece, Loved it.

I thought that was a strange / unusual way the orchestra was positioned, never seen one with that seating arrangement,

How it affected the music I know not, I have an 80% hearing loss, I heard the young man singing and he has a pleasant voice, the music was very gentle in the background I imagine

Thank you and happy birthday Franz.
