It’s the birthday of Scottish folk singer Jean Redpath (1937-2014), as well as the second Sunday of Easter. Here’s a song in honor of both.

Certainly there are lots of things in life that money won’t buy, but have you ever tried to buy them without money?

Really foot-tapping. Sad that she is ‘the late’.

I remember hearing Jean Redpath’s voice on the radio about 1960, so sweet and pure.

We used to listen to her on BBC when my father was stationed at Bentwaters RAFB from ’59 to ’62.
It was wonderful to hear her again! Thankee!

I just met all of Bobs’s family members for the first time. Gave me a chuckle!

I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😀 I started the family album years ago as a way to a) fill up the sidebar, b) use some really cute bird pictures that I’d collected, and c) avoid doing housework. It started out small and just kept growing and growing…

Sprightly! Bright in both the song and the performance. ☀

Beautifully sung. While the lyrics were new to me, the tune sounds familiar.&nsp; Could it be the same tune used in *The Gift to be Simple* by the Shakers?

Yes, it’s the same tune.
