Sunday musical offering

It’s the birthday of Scottish folk singer Jean Redpath (1937-2014), as well as the second Sunday of Easter. Here’s a song in honor of both.

Really foot-tapping. Sad that she is ‘the late’.

I remember hearing Jean Redpath’s voice on the radio about 1960, so sweet and pure.

We used to listen to her on BBC when my father was stationed at Bentwaters RAFB from ’59 to ’62.
It was wonderful to hear her again! Thankee!

  6. Beautifully sung.  While the lyrics were new to me, the tune sounds familiar.&nsp; Could it be the same tune used in *The Gift to be Simple* by the Shakers?
