I love old ads of all kinds!

Brady’s was in Lorain, Ohio, within sight of the southwestern shore of Lake Erie. Looks like a vacant lot now. (I have a michigas about looking up stuff like that.)

“Do you have Prince Albert in a can?”

    “Yes.”

“Well, you’d better let him out!”

I remember some of these ads, and Lil’ Abner. It’s hard for people under 40 to understand that at one time doctor’s advised women to smoke “for their health.”

And Spam — never did like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m reblogging this excellent reminder of yester-year father’s day ads. There was a time when women were advised to smoke “for good health.” Doctor’s smoked in their offices, too. Makes you wonder what we’re taking now “for good health” that we’ll regret in the future.

  8. Vintage advertising is a good way to learn about societal values during different eras. Blatant sexism, racist stereotypes, ballplayers hawking cigarettes…we sure have come a long way. ๐Ÿ˜€
