  1. I just want to thank you for all the smiles and even laughs I get from your blog. I know when I click on view I am in for a treat. Of course, I also enjoy the musical posts also; I find new treasures and long loved ones. Hope you are having a great day.

  5. Corn maze for old people is especially painful.

I keep forgetting that there’s a slight chance Milady and I are in the Senior range now. We don’t go to movies, or anywhere much, so we’re not reminded of it. Need to seek out and take advantage of the Sr. discount meal places!

    • I’m sure I’ve told you the story about the time several years ago when I was given a senior discount that I neither requested nor qualified for. I was two years younger than the cutoff, but I briefly considered asking for the discount anyway, since I was pretty sure the girl selling the tickets wasn’t going to ask to see my driver’s license, and I’m a natural pennypincher. In the end, I didn’t, and as I walked away from the ticket booth, congratulating myself on my honesty, I counted my change and realized that the girl had given me the discount.

I got offered a seat on the bus about two weeks ago. First time.

Part of me wanted to smack the child, and part was happy to see that at least some people are still raised right.

(Took it, not because I couldn’t stand up but because I had a bulky and awkwardly-shaped bag of groceries that kept swinging around and narrowly missing people’s heads.)

I’d rather spend a few bucks to save my dignity! Of course, my husband is the opposite and can’t wait to shout, “Two seniors!” I always look around dramatically to see the other senior to whom he’s referring.
