Certainly there are lots of things in life that money won’t buy, but have you ever tried to buy them without money?

Employment applications always ask whom to call in case of an emergency. I always say ‘an ambulance.’

My mother had surprise twins. When my twin sisters were around twelve years old, one of their friends came over to visit and Mom told her the story of how she wasn’t expecting twins.
“Oh, really?” said the friend. “Which one were you expecting?” 😁

I always hoped for twins. I wanted a big family, but I was so abysmally bad at pregnancy and childbirth that the idea of getting two for the price of one was very appealing to me. On my second pregnancy, I was so huge so early that my MD suspected twins, and ordered an ultrasound (this was in the days when ultrasounds were not routine, and were done only when there was a good reason). I was all excited about having twins, so when only one baby showed up on the screen, I was really let down, and mad at my MD for having gotten my hopes up.

Aww. That’s sad. However… I was an only child until shortly before my seventh birthday. That’s when my twin sisters were born. Seventeen months later, my first brother was born. So then there were three in diapers. I basically became a mom at age seven. There was no more peace, and no more rest. Ever.
By the time my mother was done, she had seven children. When I was 14, she married a man with six children, two of whom were twins. All of these children were younger than me, which made me the oldest of thirteen.
I was lonely as an only child. The doctor had told my mom that she couldn’t have any more children. So I prayed really hard for sisters and brothers.
Be careful what you pray for… 😂
