Sunday musical offering

Death shall not destroy my comfort,
Christ shall guide me through the gloom;
Down He’ll send some heavenly convoy,
To escort my spirit home.

Oh, Hallelujah! How I love my Savior!
Oh, Hallelujah! That I do.
Oh, Hallelujah! How I love my Savior!
Mourners, you may love Him too.

Jordan’s stream shall not o’erflow me,
While my Savior’s by my side;
Canaan, Canaan lies before me;
Soon I’ll cross the swelling tide.

Oh, Hallelujah! How I love my Savior!
Oh, Hallelujah! That I do.
Oh, Hallelujah! How I love my Savior!
Mourners, you may love Him too.

See the happy spirits waiting,
On the banks beyond the stream;
Sweet responses still repeating,
“Jesus! Jesus!” is their theme.

Oh, Hallelujah! How I love my Savior!
Oh, Hallelujah! That I do.
Oh, Hallelujah! How I love my Savior!
Mourners, you may love Him too.

    Very nice!

    If I was still living in Portland I would’ve joined that choir, but I’m glad I blew that popsicle stand…
    (I used to sing with the Portland Symphony, many many decades ago)

  2. That was moving. How I love my Savior! Thanks for posting this.

    I don’t know if it’s the vocal range of the singers (or the arrangement), my aged deteriorating hearing range, or maybe just my cheap speakers, that makes me unable to parse most chorus lyrics,* but for once I could make out (most of) the words. (The lyrics helped).

    *Also British dramas with too-loud incidental music.
