Yes, questions we have all asked. 🙂
But I agree — we can’t even manage the technology we have.

A cue to debate whether the decade ends tonight or a year from tonight. (Remember the debate about whether the new millennium began with 2000 or 2001?)

I do remember that. And Y2K apocalypse mania made matters worse, because when people think that civilization as we know it is about to come to an end, they have no interest in debates over when one decade (or century or millennium) ends and another begins. 🙂

Gosh! Another decade I’ve been alive in! Add up the decades you’ve lived in, even if only a year. It’s scary.
But where are all these wonderful things? Instead of making things better, we seem to have messed up. Again!
Still, thanks for the chuckle, and a Happy New Year.

We ever prove we do not have the wisdom to handle what we have created.
– there is One who can –
we need to admit Him into us
and let ourselves be guided
in His purposes-
Then all will be well with us,
and all manner of things will be well ——

Everything Calvin wondered about is actually here, we just don’t have any of it economically viable. Sure, we can DO, but can’t AFFORD.
And who needs a disintegration ray, anyway? Giant Killer Robots are more fun!!
