I love squirrels. You’ll see they have different personalities if you can learn to identify who’s who in the yard.

We built a feeder house/squirrel restaurant, which has sidewalls of 16×20″ picture frames, and mounted it on an old oak tree in our side yard. I painted its name on the end facing the street – “The Nut House – fine dining for Tamiascurus hudsonicus,” We keep it stocked with dried field corn, and we watch the squirrels go in and pig out. It’s become their favorite dining spot.

  10. Ah, ha, ha. Those are some really hilarious squirrels. My favorite was the country and western blues squirrel. 😀 — Suzanne

I do love squirrels. That third cartoon reminds me of a video I saw where people were guessing how many nuts this one squirrel could get in its mouth – turned out eight!

Yes, the jokes are funny, but not the squirrels. I can hear something in my loft as I write, and suspect one of the little blighters has managed to find a hole we’ve not blocked up. I just hop it’s not devouring the electric cables.
And one ate some cab les in my son’s friend’s car and it cost him a packet.

    • I like them as long as they stay outside. One time a flying squirrel managed to get into our attic — don’t ask me how — but we managed to evacuate it before it did any damage. We also used to get chipmunks in the house before we figured out how they were getting in. Every time a chipmunk got inside, the cats would go crazy fighting over it.
