The karaoke mating dance reminds me of an amorous male dove we have here in our neighborhood. He keeps singing, dancing, preening, and chasing after this one female dove, and she is NOT interested.

I’ve seen videos of male birds doing their mating ritual in front of bored, unimpressed females. They are hilarious.

We have vast flocks of wild turkeys nearby. This must be The Time Of The Season for them: On my walks, I encouter small groups including males with full plumage displayed gobbling and posturing in front of similarly bored-looking females.
I give them a wide berth and walk by singing “Get Down Tonight.” 😉
