Ahhhh. Summer. Time for the annual listen to Mungo Jerry. Also. Why are rodents so cute in photos and so horrid when they scrabble over your foot?

Good question. My eldest daughter used to keep Russian dwarf hamsters, and they were as cute as the dickens, but somewhat less cute when they escaped from their cages and scurried around the house. They were so tiny that they could slip right under closed doors, making them next to impossible to catch.
