The problem with cats is that they get the exact same look on their face whether they see a moth or an axe-murderer. —Paula Poundstone
My kid accused me of being overdramatic, so I changed the WiFi password. We’ll see who’s overdramatic in about five minutes.

112 degrees Fahrenheit. That was the new all-time high that was recently set in my town. So yeah, these pictures make perfect sense.

Aren’t you glad you aren’t wearing a fur coat?

Yes, I am very glad for that. I cut about 3″ off of my hair last week, so now it only reaches the middle of my back. That’s as short as I like to go. But just those 3″ make a difference!

The nice thing about long hair is that you can tie or pin it up out of the way and off your neck when the weather is hot and humid.

These are all great. I can’t pick a favourite.
In Athens in the year before the Pandemic, I saw a whole bunch of pigeons all crowded in the shade of a tree. Not one single bird in the open.

Smart birds. They know enough to avoid heatstroke.

Which is more than some people know. You see them basking in ridiculous temperatures, getting redder and redder.

Let me know if I got this right. You call these mercury rising since the thermometer has mercury in it and it’s getting hotter?

It was a hot, muggy day here today, so your timing with these couldn’t have been better! All critters like a way to cool off when the temperature rises too far 🙂
