    Hmmmm……🤔
That fox seems awful calm… Almost as if it’s tamed….

They’re becoming bolder here in the UK. Partly due to people feeding them. A mistake in my view. I admit they’re pretty enough, though. Our estate has open plan front gardens so we can’t stop them with fencing.
We often have to remove fox poo from our lawn, and twice recently there has been a dirty nappy left; once on our lawn, and once next door. Disgusting.
And the horrific destruction they wreak if they get into a hen house is heartbreaking. They kill not only for food. I used to be ic Agricultural Science at a local school and we had a small farm. A fox once got into the poultry–no idea how. We had severely traumatized hens as well as dead and injuried ones. The fox even killed an extremely feisty gander. That must have been quite a fight.

      • Ugh, that must have been horrible.

We have foxes around our house (we’re inside the city limits, but on the outskirts and with lots of wooded areas nearby) and I worry sometimes that one of them might decide to pick off our little porch kitty, Scruffy. Luckily, Scruffy is very alert and very skittish, and very quick to run and hide under the porch anytime he feels the least bit threatened. He might pick a fight with a gopher, but probably nothing larger than that.

Oh wow. I hope they get under control. A few years back we saw a bald eagle catch one in our field. It was a grey fox.

When the leaves fell from the tree, I spotted her nest and took a photo to show the neighbors, they got a big laugh knowing that the flags were being put to good use and not destroyed. I’ll see if I can find that photo, can’t remember if I took it with my camera or my phone, if I took it with my phone it’s probably gone, it wasn’t as easy to print photos back then from a phone.
