Certainly there are lots of things in life that money won’t buy, but have you ever tried to buy them without money?

Employment applications always ask whom to call in case of an emergency. I always say ‘an ambulance.’

Excellent collection!
My late husband had to go on a diet for his cholesterol many years ago. He lost weight rapidly and everyone wanted to know what kind of diet he was following. He always said “I can eat anything I want as long as I don’t like it” which was pretty much true 🙂

I tried that diet once.

If something didn’t work the first time, why would I try it again?

America began as a nation of prosperous farmers. Hard working farmers need to eat well. Since only a few people lived to old age, beyond the point they could be active, there wasn’t much concern with eating a rich diet. Thomas Jefferson probably expressed what concern there was when he said the healthy thing to do was to leave the table still just a little bit hungry. Can you imagine actually doing that? Well, imagination is far as most of us go. Thus, pushing away from the table when we are still a bit hungry is an excellent measure of the self-discipline it takes to become a good president of the United States.
What is that Lay’s Potato Chip ad? “You can’t eat just one.”

I love the last one! People like that are so-o annoying.
My mother-in-law looked good for her age. She hardly had any grey hairs and I know for a fact she never dyed it. Her wrinkles were few, too.
One day at a hospital appointment, a nurse said, ‘You don’t look 80.’
Mother-in-law replied, ‘What does 80 look like?’
I think she had a good point. My grandmother looked an old lady in her 60s, and acted like one, although she lived to be 86. But that was in the 50s. We look and act much younger nowadays.
But no one needs to rub it in if they look younger than those around them.

I agree. They obviously lucked out in the genetics lottery, and good for them, but they don’t need to gloat about it.

The Peanuts and Pearls Before Swine are lol for me. I would also prefer therapists be behind cardboard boxes, and by the time you get through the list of things not to eat and drink there is usually nothing of worth left!
