In honor of the 206th anniversary of the publication of Pride and Prejudice, here are a couple of magazine covers that will make no sense whatsoever to anyone who is not a fan of either the novel or the 1995 screen adaptation.
It’s the 205th anniversary of the day that Jane Austen’s greatest hit was published, which gives me all the excuse I need to post this ancient (ancient meaning even older than YouTube) video… which, despite being about as amateurish as a video can be, still cracks me up every time I watch it. (If you are unfamiliar with the plot of Pride and Prejudice, you might want to give this one a miss, as it will make no sense whatsoever.)
The last time I was in England, Charles Darwin’s face was on the ten-pound note. The Bank of England’s new design is a great improvement, and guaranteed to warm the hearts of Austen lovers everywhere.
